[William Jewell Master's Degree](https://knowledge.breatheforchange.com/current-students?hsLang=en#william-jewell-masters-degree) # William Jewell Degree Live Classes: Zoom & Attendance Protocols ## Below you will find information on how to access your classes on Zoom, our guidelines for Zoom etiquette, and what to do if you have to miss a class. **Also Known As / Common Questions** - "How do I access the classes for my degree?" - “What happens if I miss a live class?” - “Do I need to attend every master's degree live class?” - “How do I make up missed classes?” - “Where do I find the class recordings?” --- ### **Class Access & Completion via Zoom** - Access the **Zoom links in Brightspace**. Within 24 hours after each meeting, the recording(s) will be posted in your curriculum for those who were unable to attend or who want to review. More information can be found [here](https://knowledge.breatheforchange.com/current/jewell/brightspace-nav-guide#:~:text=of%20your%20dashboard.-,Access%20Live%20Session%20Zoom%20Links,-You%20can%20access). - Please check that your application is [updated to the most recent version](https://support.zoom.us/hc/en-us/articles/201362233-Upgrade-update-to-the-latest-version) before each meeting to ensure that it functions properly. If your device is running slowly, try restarting it before the meeting begins or setting up closer to your internet router. You can even connect directly if you have an ethernet cord. - Your Zoom meeting minutes (from attending live or viewing the recording) will be stored in our student health system for faculty and advisors to review. - In Brightspace, after you have fully attended or viewed the class, check the box to note for yourself that you have completed it. --- ### **Zoom Etiquette** In order for all students to have the best experience during class, please follow the following guidelines. - **Register With Your WJ Email:** Use your WJ email for the registration form to ensure your attendance is properly recorded. - **Use One Device:** Join from one device at a time, so that our breakout rooms run smoothly and equitably. - **Rename Yourself:** Rename yourself with your full name, so that we know who you are. When relevant, be sure to use the naming convention provided so that we know which breakout to place you in for Community Group sessions. - **Keep Your Video On:**When possible, keep your video on to stay engaged and foster community connection. - **Stay Muted Unless Speaking:**Remain muted unless called on to speak so that background noise does not interfere with the class. - **Use the Chat to Connect to the Learning:**Keep conversations in the chat relevant to the content that we are presently exploring. - **Leave If Absent for an Extended Period:**If you need to leave your device for an extended period during class, leave the meeting so that breakout rooms can be created effectively and equitably.
