Technical Troubleshooting
I'm receiving one of the following error messages when I try to connect to the Zoom call: “This site is blocked,” “Unable to connect” or “Network error.” How can I gain access?
Some school devices, networks, or email accounts may block access or communications. Try connecting from home or contact your school IT team.
I received a prompt to update to the latest version of Zoom. Should I install the new update?
Yes! Learn more about how to install and update in this article: Updating Zoom to the latest version.
If you don't have the latest version of Zoom installed, you may not have access to the features needed to participate fully in the live sessions, such as joining breakout rooms, or you may experience glitches.
We highly recommend updating your Zoom app whenever a new version becomes available. Occasionally the update is mandatory and you will not be able to join the call until you've installed it.
I can't access the Zoom call and I've tried the above tips for connecting. Now what?
Below are a few additional recommendations that we've found to be successful in supporting students with accessing Zoom calls:
- close out any extra tabs or programs on your device that you are not using
- move closer to the router, or connect directly using an ethernet cable
- restart your device
