DonorsChoose Funding for Breathe For Change Trainings

DonorsChoose is a funding platform teachers can use to cover tuition for Breathe For Change programs. This article explains how to request an invoice, set up your project, and ensure tuition is fully covered.

Step 1: Request a DonorsChoose Invoice

  • When you create your DonorsChoose project, they will request a payment document.
  • Submit the Invoice Request Form to receive this document.

Step 2: Create Your Project Early

Note: to be eligible for full funding from DonorsChoose

  • Enroll in a training that is at least 30 days away from your deposit date.

  • Create your DonorsChoose project a minimum of 30 days before your cohort start date.

  • Send the project link and expiration date to the Breathe For Change Support Team via the DonorsChoose Project Confirmation Form.

Step 3: Submit Your Project to Breathe For Change Support Team

  • A deposit is required to secure your spot. This automatically enrolls you in our in-house payment plan.
  • Once we receive your project link and expiration date, we will cancel your payment plan and mark your DonorsChoose project as “In Progress.” 
  • Important: Your payment plan will not be cancelled until we receive this link and expiration date.
  • When your project is fully funded, DonorsChoose will send your tuition payment to Breathe For Change.
  • Upon receipt of the tuition payment from DonorsChoose, we will reimburse your deposit.

Step 4 – Monitor Your Project

If you are 7 days away from your project’s expiration date and it’s not yet fully funded, email support@breatheforchange.com to discuss alternative payment options.
