Mindfulness, SEL, and Yoga Teacher Training Certification Requirements

To become a 200-hour Certified Yoga Teacher (CYT) and Social-Emotional Learning Facilitator (SEL*F) through Breathe For Change, you must complete all requirements listed below.

Certification Requirements

To earn your official certification, you must:

  1. Pay Tuition in Full

    Submit this form to pay off your balance: B4C Tuition Balance Payment Request Form. 

  2. Complete 100% of the On-Demand Curriculum

    Complete the on-demand content, explore the reflections, and practice and practice-teach as directed.

  3. Attend All Live Sessions

    If you miss a session, complete the make-up hours using the recordings and associated instructions.

  4. Submit SEL*F Wellness Workshop

    Plan, practice-lead, and submit your Social-Emotional Learning & Facilitation (SEL*F) Wellness Workshop. 

    More information is located in SEL*F Unit 7 within your curriculum.

  5. Complete 4 Hours of Community Seva

    Share yoga asana classes with your community, family, or friends and
    submit a reflection on your experience.

  6. Participate in the Asana Yoga Class Finale

    Participate in the live session practice, planning, and co-teaching of the Asana Yoga Class Finale to demonstrate competence in your asana instruction.

All requirements must be met within one year of your first Live Day to receive certification.

Pacing

A curriculum pacing guide with can be found within the :spiral_calendar_pad: Training Overview & Curriculum Map :spiral_calendar_pad: lesson in the Welcome Module of your program's curriculum.

It’s recommended that students complete the curriculum in the order of the map provided. Working ahead or falling behind with the asynchronous content is totally okay, as long as all lessons are completed.

Audit Status Option

If you no longer wish to pursue official certification but would still like to continue learning:

  • You may request to move to audit status by contacting support@breatheforchange.com.
  • As a student in audit status, you will continue to have access to:
    • All on-demand curriculum
    • Recordings of live sessions

Important note: Audit participants are not eligible for certification.
