Pathways Overview

Completing the Mindfulness, SEL, and Yoga Teacher Training* or the Human Intelligence Certification program exempts you from full participation in the following courses at William Jewell College as part of your Master's of Science in Education:

  • The Human Side of Teaching (4 credits) - EDU 620
  • Educator Resilience and Well-Being (4 credits) - EDU 621

Graduates have already fulfilled the learning outcomes of these two courses and will complete the degree requirements through Training Recognition Credits (TRCs).

When enrolling at William Jewell College, Mindfulness, SEL, and Yoga Teacher Training graduates will follow a 3-semester pathway toward graduation.

*Mindfulness, SEL, and Yoga Teacher Training certificate must be dated January 1, 2022 or later in order to qualify for TRC course enrollment.

Training Recognition Credits (TRCs)

TRCs represent coursework already completed through your Breathe For Change trainings.

You will submit two assignments per course to demonstrate prior learning from your Breathe for Change experiences.

TRCs do not include live class meetings or new content—they exist to recognize your previous training within the William Jewell degree framework.

Expected Workload

Expect to spend at least 1-2 hours of work outside of class meetings per credit hour enrolled*. This includes the application component of the curriculum, which involves implementing practices within your classroom or educational context.

For example: if you enroll in 8 credits, you should spend 8-16 hours per week on your asynchronous coursework, which includes time implementing what you’re learning in your classroom and educational context.

*This is for non-TRC courses only.
