What is the time commitment for the Breathe For Change Mindfulness, SEL, and Yoga Teacher Training and how are the hours broken down?

  • This is a 200-hour training; you will spend about 200 hours total working towards your certification.
  • There are 72 hours total attributed to the live sessions. You can review the dates of the live sessions for each cohort here.
  • The remaining 128 hours will include:
    • exploring on-demand resources, videos, and reflections designed to prepare you for the upcoming live weekend.
    • continuing to practice-teach the Asana, Meditation, and SEL*F strategies from your live and on-demand content.
    • upholding a personal yoga practice throughout the training.
  • There will also be optional content and resources available to you.

How much time will be spent in live sessions? 

  • There are 72 total hours of live sessions. 
  • Each live day is 6 hours long, and there are 12 live days total.
  • The live days are structured in pairs and happen weekly or monthly, depending on which cohort you join.
    • Those in cohorts that meet for monthly live weekends throughout the school year will participate in live Zoom calls for 12 hours per month.
    • Those in summer intensive cohorts will participate in live Zoom calls for 12 hours per week.
    • If you miss a live Zoom call, you will need to set aside time to watch the recordings and make up the practice teaching. You can read more about our attendance policy here.

How much time will be spent on self-paced, on-demand learning?

  • Expect to spend 20 hours on your on-demand work and personal practice prior to each pair of live sessions.
    • Those in cohorts that meet for monthly live weekends throughout the school year can plan to spend 20 hours monthly on their on-demand coursework, practice-teaching, and personal practice.
    • Those in summer intensive cohorts can plan to spend 20 hours weekly on their on-demand coursework, practice-teaching, and personal practice.
